Leading by example here, thought it was only fair to post a hello and an intro. No doubt at some point site members will wonder what the author of this site is all about?
I am David, I run a small web services company and am an ex-freelance of 10 years+ who worked mainly in the Hertfordshire and North London areas.
My mainstay work was mostly editorial although I did frequently cover commercial, PR, sport, social and occasionally even theatrical photography.
I was working during the revolution – or some might say; the switch from film to digital. My first digital Cannon output an almighty whole 1-megapixel. Wow!
Cutting edge stuff at the time. But I do wonder sometimes about handing a photography student a film camera and saying: “There you go, you’ve got 36 shots and you won’t know what you’ve got until you get back and we go into the darkroom. Please go and cover this event and we need a front page out of it!”
Anyone else miss that uncertain excitement? ..Just me then!

These days the camera sadly spends more time in the bag than out. So to compensate while using my own newly found passion for web services I promised myself to start up a photographic website of some fashion.

Why Macro. I have held an appreciation of this specialist field for many a year. Although it is fair to say that I have not ever once worked in it within my career. The technical marvel, the such narrow depth of field and the amazing results are often ore inspiring beyond belief. I might play about in it as a hobby now days but the pro results I see from experienced photographers practising this craft just blows me away.
    So.. macro chat anyone?
